Twitter Advertising

Amplify your following and drive fast-paced traffic to your website with Twitter Advertising

Whether you want to use video, images or words – or a combination of the three – Twitter’s scroll-stopping formats and unique targeting options enable you to get involved in real consumer conversations.

You can even tell more of your story with Twitter Live ads, a promoted live stream to your chosen audience, or Moment ads, a collection of tweets put together.

Twitter Ads allow you to target by conversation (there are over 10,000 conversation topics to choose from), by followers and events (you can target attendees up to two weeks before and three weeks after an event).

Ad campaigns are objective based, meaning they are optimised towards the objective you select. So, whether you pick awareness (Reach), Consideration (video views, pre-roll views, app installs, website traffic, engagement, followers) or Conversion (app re-engagements), you will only be billed for actions aligned with that goal.

In the US, Twitter has recently launched Twitter Shops, which enables brands to tap into the power of conversation to drive sales of their products. Companies can highlight up to 50 products in an immersive, curated and customizable one-stop-shop. They can also host live shopping events and launch products exclusively on Twitter to drive excitement around new lines. Twitter Shops should be available in the UK shortly.

Twitter has a few main ad types:

Promoted ads look like regular tweets in a user’s feed and can be engaged in the exact same way, the only difference is they’re labelled as ‘promoted’.

Follower ads, formerly known as promoted accounts, enable you to promote your brand’s twitter account to your chosen audience and encourage them to follow your page, if they’re not already doing so.

Twitter Amplify is a selection of content from 15+ categories of pre-screened, brand-safe publishers where users can place a pre-roll video ad.

Twitter Takeover. There are two takeover types; Trend takeovers, formerly known as trending topics, allow brands to place a sponsored ad in the trending tab or the what’s happening section, while Timeline takeovers are when an ad appears as soon as someone opens Twitter, right at the very top of their timeline.

Branded Hashtags means that if someone uses your hashtag, then a visual component will appear, like an emoji, to help you stand out.
